Pets

responsibilities

If you wish to own a pet, it must be suitable for your home and lifestyle.

You are responsible for your pets and those owned by your visitors. If they cause damage or a mess, we will charge you for clearing it up, and will take any other action we think is necessary to resolve the problem.

You are also responsible for any repairs, or repairing or replacing any damage if the damage is caused deliberately or carelessly by you or your pet, a member of your household, or a visitor to your Property or their pets.

Dogs

You may keep a dog if your property is suitable and you have written permission from CETRA. If permission is given, it will be under the conditions:

  • The dog is micro chipped
  • You will not have more than 2 dogs at the property
  • It is kept on a lead in communal areas
  • It is insured for liability
  • You ensure the dog does not cause damage or a nuisance

You must also follow the correct care instructions:

  • Feed your dog 2 healthy meals a day and provide them with fresh water
  • Walk them regularly, at least twice a day
  • Keep them clean

You must not keep dog breeds which contravene the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (as amended), for example pit bull terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila Braziliero.

The dog must not cause any damage to your home or cause nuisance, danger or harm to any other person in or around the locality. You are allowed to keep assistance dogs for either yourself or members of your household.

Permission to have domestic pets may be withdrawn at any time. You are not allowed to breed or sell pets from your property or in and around the locality.
